Reno Transportation

As the hub of commerce in the High Sierra, Reno transportation is a vital component of the local community, the larger region and even the entire western United States. Reno is home to an international airport, is located on one of the transcontinental railways and sits at the junction of two major roadway arteries. For travel within town, there are several different options. Given that many tourists and visitors fly to Reno to enjoy the local resorts, there are several fleets of taxis that service the area between the airport and the rest of the city. For the high rollers and VIPs, there are also a number of limousine companies. Car rentals are available at both the airport and at a number of other locations around the Truckee Meadows. Bus service provides quick and easy Reno transportation throughout town from the Regional Transportation Commission. For travel to destinations outside of the area, the Greyhound bus station downtown has been newly renovated and remodeled. Many people who come to the area utilize Reno transportation to travel from the city to the nearby attractions such as Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, Carson City and Valley or the nearby ski resorts. Most of the area transportation providers can accommodate these trips, including the bus and shuttle systems and the car and limo rental companies.

Reno Transportation by Shuttle

If you are a guest at one of the area resorts, check to see if the facility makes a shuttle available for Reno transportation. Some will provide transportation to or from the airport, while others offer service to attractions such as the downtown area on a will-call or regularly scheduled timetable. Shuttles are also available to and from some of the ski areas.
